I get a big smile on my face when I remember the minute I decided to become a teacher!  I knew that teaching children was going to be my passion!

I graduated from the University of Southern California with a lifetime teaching credential in Elementary Education. My first teaching experience was at Baldwin Hills Elementary School in the LAUSD. I was in love with teaching children, but after three years, I left the profession to get married and start my family. I raised two fabulous children, a daughter and a son, for 16 years until they were old enough that I felt comfortable leaving them and returned to teaching at Oakwood School. I loved every minute teaching the fourth grade, but had an opportunity to develop my artistic talents by starting my own business, Parties with Pizazz. It was a successful event planning company that kept me busy for 15 years. During that time, I continued to miss working with children on a daily basis. This time I returned to my passion in private, independent schools as a teacher of general studies to elementary and middle school students, as well as the art specialist to grades K-8. Twenty-nine years later, I have returned to where I first began teaching in LAUSD and am thrilled to be the Art Professional Expert at Wilbur Charter for Enriched Academics.

My life has been a gift filled with the joy of teaching children! Along with many other gifts of love from my family which now includes a terrific son-in-law and two adorable granddaughters- one 11 years old entering middle school and the other eight years old entering third grade. My girls light up my life on a daily basis! When I am not teaching school, I treasure each day with the unconditional love of my dog, Emma, a 12 year old beagle, dear friends, traveling (love, love France), the beach, flowers and the beauty of nature, photography, arts and crafts classes, See's Chocolates, baking yummy desserts, tutoring children, movies, Netflix, and visiting museums. I continue to smile each day for all the gifts that I have been given!
